Lily is our favorite place in town to buy used kimono and yukata. The people who run the place are super friendly and helpful and the selection is great. And, it’s right in the middle of downtown.

I’m always in the market for a nice used kimono or yukata and I was delighted when I happened upon this place the other day while exploring Shinkyogoku arcade in Kyoto. It’s not a big shop, but the items on display are very well chosen. The owners of the place are friendly and helpful. I love the sign below the cash register: “We can’t speak English well. So we apologize if we happen to say something rude.” Actually, they speak English just fine and they didn’t say anything rude to me! Quite the opposite: they made me feel at home and helpful me choose some nice items.
