I’m a big fan of the Holiday Inn Kyoto Gojo and I’m going to recommend it to my budget clients. It gets nearly everything right: the rooms and spacious for the price, the staff it helpful, the common areas are attractive, the breakfast is good and it’s right near the crucial Gojo-Karasuma intersection for easy access to the subway.

Daiyokujo (onsen-style bath) at the Holiday Inn Kyoto Gojo.
I love being able to get to the subway in less than 1 minute and also the freedom to walk downtown or to Kyoto Station in 15 minutes or so. I also like the daiyokujo (onsen-style bath) and the pleasant common areas. Really, if you want a comfortable place to stay and you want to save your money for sightseeing and dining, take a good look at the Holiday Inn Kyoto Gojo.
