A modern boutique hotel with Japanese touches relatively close to Kyoto Station, the Hotel Kanra is a stylish and unique place to be based in Kyoto.

Located in a nondescript neighborhood between Higashi-Hongan-ji and Gojo-dori Street, the Hotel Kanra is an interesting new boutique hotel with Japanese touches. The rooms are interesting and well designed, and some even have two levels (loft style). The staff goes out of their way to be helpful and they even have electric-assist bicycles for rent. It’s not the ideal location for Kyoto sightseeing, but you’re only a short taxi ride away from most of the main sightseeing districts.
