The Hotel Monterey Kyoto is a slightly smarter than average business hotel on Karasuma-dori, which is on the west side of Downtown Kyoto.
The Hotel Monterey Kyoto is a large well-located hotel on Karasuma-dori, which forms the western border of Downtown Kyoto. It’s very close to the subway and walking distance to most downtown sites. Rooms are average for this price range and there are some decent onsite facilities, though some grouse at having to pay to use the hotel’s spa. Still, it’s a good choice if you can get a good deal online and want to be downtown.
