Ohanabo guest room
If you want to sample the ryokan experience but you find the rates at some of Kyoto’s famous luxury ryokan daunting, then have a look at Ohanabo (sometimes listed online as Hokkaikan Ohanabo). The rates here are solidly mid-range (keep in mind that the rates include either breakfast or breakfast and dinner).
Ohanabo cuisine
Ohanabo is a very short walk from Kyoto Station, across the street from the awesome Higashi-Hongan-ji Temple complex. It’s also very close to both Gojo Station on the Karasuma Subway Line, so it’s quite easy to get to other parts of the city.
Ohanabo large bathtub
The staff at Ohanabo get rave reviews from guests and they’ll do everything to make your stay pleasant. At the time of booking, you can choose to have a kaiseki meal served in your room and we highly recommend this option. Some rooms have en suite bathrooms and there’s a great daiyokujo (large bathtub and bathing area). Overall, Ohanabo is a fantastic choice in the mid-range ryokan class.
