If you want to save money on accommodation to spend on food, attractions and transport, you’ll love the Sotetsu Fresa Inn Kyoto Kiyomizu-Gojo. The Sotetsu Fresa is a Japanese brand that specializes in clean, efficient hotel rooms at rock-bottom rates. And, as the name suggests, this one is just down the hill from Kiyomizu-dera Temple, which is the heart of the Southern Higashiyama sightseeing district. It’s also an easy walk downhill to Kiyomizu-Gojo Station on the Keihan Line. Around the hotel is one of our favorite neighborhoods in the city, with lots of cool shops and small restaurants. You could, in a pinch, walk to Kyoto Station from here in about 25 minutes.
Sotetsu Fresa breakfast
The rooms are what you’d expect: compact, clean and efficient. Really, if you just need a place to lay your head, you’ll be happy here. And, for traveling families, they have connecting rooms that give you four single beds for the gang. All in all, this hotel is one of the best bargain hotels in the city.
