Yakiniku Dining Kinoe is one of the very best places in Kyoto to enjoy some of Japan’s famous wagyu beef. You cook it yourself on grills at your table and it’s not only fun but seriously delicious.

Yakiniku is usually translated as Korean BBQ, but this is really a Japanese restaurant that focuses on some of the best wagyu available, including Omi beef. It’s marbled, tender and it melts in your mouth. It’s served with dishes like kimchee, rice, simple salads and amazing sauces that bring out the flavor of the beef. And,there are some nice wines, beer, sake and soft drinks to wash it all down with.
There’s an English menu and the staff are comfortable with foreign diners. The vibe is subdued and casual, and there are both counter and table seats. This makes it great for both groups and solo diners.
There are lunch sets for ¥2000 to ¥3000 and dinner sets from ¥5000 to ¥10,000. Given the quality of the beef and the accompanying dishes, this is very reasonable.
If you’re a carnivore, just go to Kinoe. You will not be disappointed.
