For used kimono, yukata, obi and kimono accessories, this friendly little shop in Gion is a great place to look. Prices are reasonable and the selection is great.

If you can’t make it to one of Kyoto’s monthly flea markets, Yaya is the best place to look for used kimonos and related items. The items here are great by themselves or repurposed into all manner of things like table runners, handbags, shirts and wall hangings.

The prices here are quite reasonable and you can walk out with a knockout kimono or obi for about the price of a decent meal. The staff can help you close in on materials and designs that suit your taste. And, for those who are new to the world of kimono, they can explain all the wondrous things on display.
