Located in the Sannomiya-Motomachi district, you’ll need a reservation to eat at Kokubu. But the restaurant is a strong contender for sampling Kobe’s famous beef.

Here’s another good place to try Kobe beef in the Sannomiya area. Kokubu doesn’t try to reinvent the wheel here and that’s exactly how we like it. Think cubes of marbled beef, seared on the outside, tender and pink within. Meals here aren’t inexpensive; you’ll run upwards of JPY6,000+ for 100g of beef. Don’t forget to finish your meal with their gorgeous garlic rice. You will most likely need a reservation to dine here. Ask your hotel concierge.
