Located in downtown Kyoto directly across the street from its main competition, Tawaraya, the Hiiragiya is easily one of the best ryokan in Kyoto. Very comfortable with foreign guests, the Hiiragiya is a spacious ryokan composed of an old wing, which has a wonderful wabi-sabi patina, and a new wing, where the rooms are sleek and spotless. It’s highly recommended.
