Seikoro is a beautifully decorated classic ryokan within relatively easy walking distance of both downtown and the Higashiyama sightseeing district.
From the set-back entrance area to the well-appointed lobby, as soon as you arrive at Seikoro, you’ll know you’re in for something special. In a break from the austere wabi-sabi tradition of spare decorations so common in Japanese ryokan, the Seikoro adopts an almost art nouveau approach to its decorations, especially in the common areas. Highlights of the rooms include wooden bathtubs and garden views.
