Nishiyama Ryokan is in the middle of Kyoto, just a short walk north of Kyoto City Hall and the Tozai subway line, which gives great access to the Southern Higashiyama Sightseeing District and the Northern Higashiyama Sightseeing District. Also, you can take the same line one stop west and get to the Karasuma subway line, which will get you to Kyoto Station in no time.
You can easily walk from Nishiyama Ryokan to most Downtown Kyoto and Central Kyoto sights, shops and restaurants. While the ryokan is located in a modern building, which is typical of many downtown ryokan, the rooms are traditional ryokan style. This is a good choice for those who want to try the Japanese sleeping experience in a convenient central location.
